Review by Heidi Saunders age 8

This book is about a girl called Esme and her friend Morris. It is Morris' birthday and Esme knows what present she should give him. She and her friend start painting a rock but they need some more help. So Esme shouts. Some more people come and when Morris sees his birthday surprise he is so happy that he stands in shock staring longingly at the rock. I recommend this book to readers who like birthday surprises or mammoths. I really like this book because it has been thought about and it is a thrilling read.
